Just Be Here

What do you think God wants from you? Do you think he wants you to be perfect? To find the best job, buy the best car, find the most expensive house? What if he just wants YOU...to be here with him. I recently watched the new Winnie The Pooh movie called Christopher Robin. In the movie, Christopher Robin was an adult and worked a lot. He tried to get the best for his family and he had a great job, but his family wasn't satisfied with him. It had appeared he had failed them, what more could he do? I think the best answer is "just be here." In the movie his wife stated how he was never there anymore. "I haven't seen you smile in a long time" she stated. "How could she be so unpleased if he was so successful?" The problem is, he may be successful career wise but he wasn't succeeding his family. They didn't need him to win some promotion or climb the financial ladder, they simply wanted his presence. What if that's what God wants from all of us? God has been working in my heart (as he does with every message I post here) and let me realize he doesn't want my perfection, he doesn't want my diploma, he doesn't want my money, he doesn't want my popularity...He just wants me. Being in the presence of God is (in His eyes) the most successful you could ever be. Do you know what it's like to be praised after you just won the promotion at work? What about to be the center of attention? Come on, you know you get excited when you finish the paper work for that new car or house. "sweet!" may be the sound coming from your mouth. God wants that rejoicing moment with you. When you take steps to Jesus, God starts preparing the horns to celebrate fellowship with you. Being a christian is a relationship, it's not a religion like people say it is. We are not brainwashed zombies following a cult that we were forced into or swayed into. True Christians are walking side by side daily with a friend who is closer than any other human relationship in this world. We were created for God. Everything leads us to God. How can you have a disbelief or any feeling for something that doesn't exist? Most disbelief in God stems from hate for God, but if he doesn't exist, how can some hate him? Some may believe some may not, but God just wants you. Are you going to mess up along the way? Sure but God will never leave you. Just take steps towards him and you will not regret it! Remember, he just wants you to be here.
